Tickets and entry

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are sold through Tiketti (opens in a new tab). This site has no ticket shop of its own.

Ticket types and prices are on the Tickets page.

Can I buy tickets at the gate?

Yes. Tickets are sold at the gate, card payment only. The fastest way in is to buy your ticket in advance from Tiketti.

Where and when do I exchange my ticket for a wristband? Can I do it in advance?

Tickets are exchanged for wristbands at the festival main gate. Have your ticket and a valid photo ID ready when you arrive: the festival is 18+.

If you have a student, discount or other special ticket type, be prepared to show proof that you are entitled to use it.

Keep the wristband intact for the whole festival. Lost wristbands are not replaced.

Wristband exchange is at the main gate (Makasiininkatu 1) from 14:00 on Saturday. The Friday start time will be announced later.

We aim to arrange an advance exchange. The place and time will be announced later.

Two-day tickets have their own queue.

Can I leave the area and come back?

Yes. You can leave the festival area and come back during the same festival day as long as your wristband is intact.

Your wristband and ID may be checked again at the entrance, and the security check may be repeated when you return.

Is there a separate queue for two-day tickets?

Yes. Two-day tickets have their own queue at the main gate.

What is the age limit?

The whole festival area is 18+. Be prepared to show a valid photo ID at the entrance. With a student ticket, also show your student card.

During the festival days there is also daytime side programme outside the 18+ area. Some of it is free and open to all ages; the age limit and price are stated separately for each experience.

What does the ticket include? Are the experiences included?

Every festival ticket gives access to all three stages while the ticket is valid: Main Stage, Error 404 and Tech Lab. Stage capacity may limit entry when a venue is full.

Not all activities are included in the ticket. Experiences have their own producers and often their own price. Each experience states separately whether it is included in the festival ticket. See Experiences.

An artist cancelled – can I get a refund?

Artists and schedules may change. A single artist cancelling does not entitle you to a refund, because the festival ticket gives access to the whole festival experience, not to one performance.

If an artist cancels, we aim to replace them with the most suitable alternative and keep the overall programme strong.

A ticket can only be returned if the whole event is cancelled or moved to another date. In that case the return is made with Tiketti's return form, and the ticket price is refunded excluding Tiketti's order, service and delivery fees. Read more on the Tickets page and in Tiketti's return instructions (opens in a new tab).

Does the festival go ahead in all weather?

Yes, the festival is intended to go ahead regardless of the weather.

Main Stage is outdoors, so the weather always plays a part. Error 404 and Tech Lab are indoors, which allows the event to continue even if the weather changes.

In case of severe weather or a safety risk, the festival may make changes to the schedule or programme.

Can I bring an unopened non-alcoholic can?

No. Cans and glass bottles are not allowed regardless of their contents.

Can I take photos? Do I need a photo permit?

Yes. You can take photos and videos for personal use with a phone or a small camera without a separate permit. Be considerate of other visitors, artists and staff, and do not film anyone in a way that violates their privacy or safety.

Professional camera equipment, video productions, drones, tripods and media photography require a separate permit. Send permit requests in advance to info@electricsunsets.fi.

How do I apply for a media pass?

Send media pass requests in advance by email to info@electricsunsets.fi. Include your name, the media you represent, your contact details, the purpose of your visit, the festival days you want and whether you are applying for photo, video or interview access.

What do I do if I experience harassment or need help?

If you experience harassment or need help, contact the nearest security steward or member of staff.

At the festival

Licensed areas – can I take my drink from one stage to another?

Alcohol is served under Ravintola Albatrossi's licence. Elsewhere in the area you can carry your drink with you.

The restaurant ship Toivo (Tech Lab) is a separate licensed area: drinks cannot be taken onto or off the ship. Licensed areas will be marked on the area map.

Cloakroom – where is it, what does it cost, and can I leave things before the gate?

The cloakroom is inside Ravintola Albatrossi within the festival area. There is no cloakroom outside the area, so you cannot leave things in storage before the gate check.

Cloakroom capacity is limited, so bring only what you need during the festival.

The cloakroom fee is €4.

Where are the water points?

Free drinking water is available at Ravintola Albatrossi. Water points are marked on the area map.

Are earplugs available?

Yes. Earplugs are sold at Ravintola Albatrossi.

Food vendors, the full drinks selection and the price level will be announced later.

Where can I smoke?

Only in the marked smoking area next to Ravintola Albatrossi. Follow the signs and staff instructions.

What if Tech Lab (Toivo) is full?

Tech Lab is a small space. Entry is first come, first served within capacity, and when the ship is full, people are let in as space frees up. The queueing arrangement when full will be specified later.

Where is first aid?

The first aid point is in the festival area. Its location is shown on the area map and the signs on site. You can also ask the nearest member of staff or security for help at any time.

Is cash accepted? What about Vipps?

The event is cashless. You can pay by card and other electronic payment methods, including Apple Pay. Vipps is not accepted.

Getting there

Where is the festival and where is the entrance?

The festival area is at Kuopio Harbour on the shore of Lake Kallavesi, around Ravintola Albatrossi.

The main gate address is Makasiininkatu 1, 70100 Kuopio, Finland. The gates open at 17:00 on Friday and at 15:00 on Saturday.

How do I get there by public transport?

By bus: long-distance buses arrive at Kuopio travel centre (Matkakeskus) close to the city centre. From there it is about 1–1.5 km to the harbour depending on the route; continue on foot, by local bus, taxi, e-scooter or e-bike.

By train: trains arrive at Kuopio railway station, about 1.2 km from the harbour. Continue on foot, by local bus, taxi, e-scooter or e-bike.

By air: the nearest airport is Kuopio Airport (KUO) in Rissala, about 14 km from the city centre. From the airport, take a taxi, rental car or public transport to the centre and continue to the harbour.

Kuopio has e-bikes and e-scooters, and the local Biketaxi carries festival visitors for a fee. Allow enough time, especially at the busiest arrival times.

Where can I park?

We do not recommend driving directly to the harbour area during the festival: it gets congested and parking near the festival area is limited. Park in the city centre and continue to the festival on foot or by another local means of transport.

Where can I get a taxi?

The taxi rank is marked on the area map at the south-west corner of the area. The local Biketaxi also carries festival visitors for a fee.

Accessibility

Is the area accessible? Which stages and spaces are accessible?

The festival area is designed to be as accessible as possible. The outdoor area in the harbour is mostly flat, and the event is wheelchair accessible. Some indoor spaces, temporary structures and crowded spots may be harder to reach.

Main Stage: step-free access to the front of the stage and the viewing area.

Error 404 (Ravintola Albatrossi): step-free entrance.

Tech Lab (restaurant ship Toivo): the lower deck is not accessible.

Accessible routes will be marked on the area map. Stage-by-stage details are also on the Area page.

Are there accessible toilets?

Yes. The accessible toilet is at Ravintola Albatrossi. No induction loop is available.

Is there a raised viewing platform?

No. There is no raised viewing area or wheelchair platform.

Can a personal assistant get a ticket?

Yes. A personal assistant enters free of charge with the person they assist, on the same ticket.

Wheelchair users and anyone needing special assistance are asked to contact info@electricsunsets.fi in advance so that arrival goes smoothly.

Who can I ask about accessibility?

Send accessibility questions to info@electricsunsets.fi.

Other

Is there merch?

Probably. The products and the sales point will be confirmed later.

How do I give feedback or request an artist?
How can I volunteer? Do volunteers get a free ticket?

Email info@electricsunsets.fi. Tell us briefly about yourself, when you are available during the festival and what kind of tasks you are interested in.

Volunteer benefits depend on the role and the length and number of shifts. As a rule, volunteers who complete their agreed shifts receive festival access or other volunteer benefits. Details are given to selected volunteers.

How does the festival consider the environment? Is there a deposit system?

There is no deposit system.

The festival develops more sustainable practices step by step. The focus is on recycling, reducing waste and encouraging visitors to arrive by public transport, bike or on foot. We work with partners, service providers and vendors on logistics, materials, food and drink services, energy use and keeping the area clean.

Help us keep the area tidy: use the sorting points and make responsible choices during the event. After the festival we collect feedback from visitors, staff and partners and improve based on it.
